We recommend you to use original instruments, but for new artists it might be difficult to produce your own music without the help of others. A quick way for that might be to use samples/free royalty beats from the internet. The use of samples/free royalty beats is very risky for copyright infringement from the producer, or other artists who have exclusive agreements with the producer.
Fingerprinting platforms like Youtube Content ID, TikTok, Meta, and SoundCloud are very sensitive to this, as they scan all songs on their platforms. When you use non-exclusive samples, your content could trigger matches with other tracks using the same elements, leading to potential takedowns or disputes.
Solutions!
We do not prohibit the use of non-exclusive samples, but there are a few things you should know before sending them to us:
Samples must be completely royalty-free and proven by supporting documents when you send us the release.
We will exclude your release from Youtube Content ID and SoundCloud.
In order to create a good ecosystem, we ask you to ensure that you never submit a release with material that does not belong to you. Not only will your releases not be taken down, but the royalties earned will also not be sent.
